Abstract: A pandemic is a situation where the human society all over the world are forced to face multifaceted challenges in different spheres of life, e.g. physical, mental, social, financial, educational etc. The mundane astrology has been traditionally exploited to forecast such disasters, usually for a particular country. However, the situation of pandemic that is spread globally is not discussed exclusively in classical texts of Vedic astrology. The present work aims at developing a forecasting methodology by interpreting the correlation between influenza pandemic outbreak and the “Close Eclipse Pair” in last 130 years in the light of Vedic astrological principles that are applied to predict the ailments of an individual. On the basis of this prediction technique two probable future events are also anticipated.
